How to choose a fan heater

For correct choice of a fan heater or air curtain the best way is to consult a specialist from the manufacturing enterprise or its authorized dealers. But preliminary it is possible to familiarize yourself with all the models of produced heating equipment and its characteristics on this site in “PRODUCTS INFO” section as well as read few recommendations on this page below.

It should be noted that the stated power of a fan heater (and air curtain) provides leaving of corresponding amount of thermal energy in a certain period of time. This amount of thermal energy almost does not depend on external temperature and other environmental (indoor) conditions. But the time of heating of the air in premises up to specified temperature depends not only on the power of a fan (and, naturally, the amount of thermal energy produced during some time), but also on the characteristics of the premises and environment. For example, if the heat loss through walls of the premises (as well as because of drafts, ventilation, etc.) would be equal or even higher than the power of a fan it would be impossible to heat the room even by 1 degree. But if the power is higher than heat loss, heating of premises would be the faster, the bigger the difference is (so that to reduce the heating time it is necessary to increase the fan power or to improve insulation of the building). In addition, the time of heating will depend on amount of space in the premises (for more rapid heating it is necessary to reduce the amount of space of the room or to increase the fan power).

You should not trust your sensations and put your hand to the output of the air flow to appraise the efficiency of performance of a fan or air curtain, especially in a cold room. Usually heating device produces full declared heating power (this can be checked by multiplying the consumed current by the mains voltage), but the sensations will depend on many factors either objective or subjective: the air flow velocity (moving air always seems to be cooler), humidity, physical condition, ambient temperature, etc. A more reliable way to confirm the functionality of models without using electrical measurements is to place the device in a closed room and leave it working there for some time. But anyway you should keep in mind that heat loss of premises have to be much lower than the fan heater power (see previous paragraph), and the time of work must correspond to the size of the room.

While installing air curtains with remote temperature regulator a special attention should be payed to the placement of this temperature regulator. This place must be assigned in the same room with the air curtain and the temperature regulator should be directly subjected to air exposure, which freely spreads from the air curtain around the room as a result of mixing of air heated by the air curtain with still cold air of the room. At the same time the temperature regulator must not be placed directly under the air flow outcoming from the air curtain.
